Abstract
We review our recent work on fundamental long-period fiber grating (LPG)-based (sub-)picosecond optical pulse shaping/processing techniques and their applications in ultrahigh-bit-rate optical telecommunication systems, with a particular emphasis on ultrafast optical pulse coding and jitter-tolerant time-domain de-multiplexing operations in systems operating up to 640 GHz.
