  • Abstract
    We examine an approach to perform pattern recognition on compressed video such as MPEG data streams. The current effort has focused on the identification of the region of interest (ROI) which contains the target, which is also known as the focus of attention (FOA) module. Two techniques are studied, i.e. motion field analysis and DCT transform coefficient analysis. The performance of the proposed algorithms is demonstrated with experimental results
