Abstract :
Over the last years the usage of linear motors in many industrial fields increased. A design of a modular servo drive system based on permanent magnet synchronous linear motors is shown here. The control method implemented and the means by which the system can be monitored are presented. The proposed system topology differentiates itself from other topologies due to its scalability potential, so that the system can expand as much as the application requires it.
