Abstract :
A generalized optimal linear detection filter is derived as a certain type of least-squares estimator. With the classical matched filter as one specific case, several new fundamental detection filters are derived and compared. All derivations are carried out in the frequency domain. A graphical example is presented as an illustrated comparison of the responses of the various detection filters in both the time and frequency domains.
