Abstract :
To the applications of H.264 /AVC standard in packet loss channel, an integrated rate control method joint with error resilient techniques is proposed. Based on the end to end distortion model deduced in this paper, the basic unit level rate control is achieved by combining error concealment with intra-update strategy which based on rate-distortion optimal decision. Simulation results show that the end to end distortion model can fit for the actual distortion characteristics well, by using our proposed scheme in packet-loss channel, the better integrated performance of rate control and image quality can be gotten.
