Abstract :
One problem facing hierarchical systems theory is that the allowed exact decompositions may result in problems which are too complex to be feasibly implemented. The approach of this paper is to allow aggregations of the exact decomposition. The questions of convergence of the simplified iteration and the nearness of the resulting solution to the true solution are addressed.
