Abstract
In this paper we present a brief overview of the research and development efforts that were undertaken at the Ohio State University originally in the area of intelligent vehicle highway systems (IVHS), automated highway systems (AHS), and later in autonomous vehicles or intelligent vehicles (IV). We conclude with some thoughts on possible future developments.
