Abstract :
In this article, the authors present a microwave detection method where the presence of contaminants in gaseous SF6 insulation is assessed by a shift in the resonance frequency of a cavity filled with the gas for analysis. In order to check the feasibility and the sensitivity of the method, the authors have carried out measurements on a sample of SF6 insulation mixed with known quantities of CO 2
