  • Abstract
    Digital information technology could integrate all aspects of information about architectural heritage and establish a historic building digital file that includes date, text, image, 3D model and other type. It is convenient to the daily virtual preserve and protect of architectural heritage. This paper presents that in a short time, less labor and low-cost operating condition, utilizing laser range finder aided with photographic record to get the basic data of building, and then applying Google SketchUp 3D modeling software to reconstruct space model and texture mapping model of historic building, finally it import the SketchUp 3D model with map information Multipatch to GIS system integrated, realizing the rapid digital record about the appearance form, color tones and state of building. Take the Paba Temple of Jilong County in Tibet for example, this paper studies the digital recording method is based on fast mapping of historic building and rapid modeling what could achieve both speed and fidelity effectively, and especially at the high altitude area, limited working condition in Tibet, it could better show its superiority.
