Abstract
The design of a quarter-wave aperture-coupled microstrip antenna, which has the advantages of compactness and simplicity in the feeding structure, is presented. The aperture-coupled feed with a shorting pin reduces the size of the antenna to less than half the size of conventional microstrip antennas. Thus, it is suitable for applications where only a limited area is available for the installation of the antenna.
