Abstract
The optical phase-conjugate waves from two sets of refractive index gratings with large and small periods formed in photorefractive and optically active Bi12SiO20 were successfully discriminated by the newly developed interference method, which takes advantage of the finite coherence length of Ar ion lasers. The method was applied to the investigation of the external electric-field dependence of the optical phase-conjugate waves from the both sets of gratings
