Abstract
This paper presents a closed-form design procedure for an offset elliptical-beam dual-reflector antenna illuminated by a feed with an axially-symmetric radiation pattern. A case study was conducted to demonstrate the design of a high-efficiency antenna producing an elliptical-beam with a 2:1 aspect ratio. The insight obtained from the closed-form nature of the design equations has enabled the authors to impose the Mizuguichi and Rusch conditions in the plane of the antenna where they are most needed, resulting in an antenna with low cross-polarization.
