An open hypermedia solution to information overload in industrial applications

The information resources required within the manufacturing environment are constantly increasing. Managing these resources to enable users to find vital information is now becoming a critical issue. The paper proposes an approach to information overload that uses industrial strength hypermedia to manage these information resources. The strategy proposed ensures that the cost of implementing such a system is minimised by allowing documentation to remain in its original format.
