Abstract :
Maintaining a constant beamwidth with scan necessitates a significant change in main beam gain due to the fact that the gain-beamwidth product remains constant. It is possible to maintain a constant beamwidth with scan using either phase tapering, amplitude tapering, or reducing the aperture size by turning off elements. The results this study favor shows that a constant beamwidth can be maintained across a 60 degree scan range by turning elements on as the beam scans away from boresight.
