Abstract
In order to validate results of simulations using FIT-based algorithm implementation, a representative set of structures is simulated. Rectangular cavities area good chance since their eigenmodes and resonant frequencies can be obtained by means of analytical treatment. An electromagnetic simulation of a rectangular cavity was performed using FIT and FDTD numerical methods. Several differences were found in terms of processing time, accuracy and memory requirements. FDTD code was written using MATLAB. FIT code was written using Python and scientific libraries such as Numpy, Scipy and Pylab.
