Abstract

The paper presents results of evaluation of snow cover contamination levels of the settlements from point and non point sources. The empirical dependences of Polyaromatic hydrocarbons total concentrations on the distance from main sources of pollution are established. It is shown that the effects from initially unaccounted sources can be revealed by measuring PAHs concentrations in different directions from accounted sources. Bar charts of snow cover contamination in public places and maps of areal distributions can be used for assessment of potential risk for population health.
