Abstract :
Intermodulation and harmonic interference occurs because of nonlinear processes, such as in amplifiers. This can present a serious problem between the transmitters and receivers of different cellular providers. In some Asian countries, the co-existance of AMPS and GSM makes the matter worse. In this paper, we give a mathematical analysis of the 3rd-order hit rate for evenly distributed frequencies. A simulator was developed for the more complex frequency set and higher order of IM. The worst scenario and possible prevention method for IM and harmonic interference between AMPS, existing GSM and newly opened GSM system for a specific country´s cellular network are also discussed
