Abstract :
The authors describe AT&T operations and maintenance (O&M) strategies to support evolving IDS (international digital services). Highlighted are the operations system (OS) and work center (WC) architectures associated with IDS O&M, and the international WC´s use of the remote measurement system-International RMS-1 and Digital Services Test System (DSTS) for centralized IDS testing in particular. Future enhancements predict additional IDS O&M automation through AT&T´s UNMA (unified network management architecture) offerings and automated PTT interaction for O&M information exchange
