Abstract
Antenna arrays fed by a radial line are a very attractive solution for direct broadcast satellite (DBS) receivers. This kind of feeding network allows a high efficiency at the same time as a small size and a low fabrication cost The analysis of a radial line slot antenna ending in a nonsymmetric short circuit has been analysed using an equivalent circuit model for the slot to slot and slot to vertical probe coupling. Good agreement has been observed between the computed and measured far field pattern and gain. The analysis scheme can be used to validate any design method.
