Abstract
This paper identifies eight steps that a company should follow to begin the development of a business continuity plan. The plan was developed by documenting the process a large transportation company used to reinforce their continuity planning in the wake of the 2004 hurricane season. This research identifies typical questions to be asked of functional departments within the organization along with some more specific question examples for the departments. The paper identifies 13 potential projects and other recommendations found from the research.
