Abstract :
Wideband multi-sensor systems require frequency selective weights, as opposed to complex multipliers, on each channel. The number of computations and the system performance are dependent on the FIR filter length necessitating efficient beamforming strategies. In this paper data is presented which suggests that an extension of Van Trees´ (1968) work on non-causal filter-and-delay structures to a multi-sensor environment offers performance improvements over the use of purely causal filters of identical length
