Abstract :
In view of the characteristics of processing face milling in turning center, this paper presents the polar coordinate interpolation algorithm based on particle movement. When processing face milling in the turning center, the feed instruction of programming should be converted from Cartesian coordinates to machine movement coordinates by the control system. Firstly, analyzed the structure of machine tool, combined with the characteristics of particle´s movement in polar coordinate system, the equation of kinematics transform is constituted between the Cartesian coordinates and polar coordinates. Then according to the above conversion relationship, the polar coordinates linear and circular interpolation algorithms are provided. Finally, based on this algorithm, the function of polar coordinates interpolation is implemented. According to this study, on the existing movement trajectory planning method, the algorithm is not only able to implement the dynamic conversion in the real-time interpolation but also can simplify numerical control programming and improve the machining efficiency.
