Abstract :
Advanced EHF (AEHF) is a follow-on system to the Milstar system. In many important ways the AEHF program is built on Milstar heritage. The design of the AEHF satellite system contains several key features that present spectrum management challenges. Two of the features discussed in this paper are higher data rates for AEHF andphased array antennas on the spacecraft. In this paper we describe the requirements that were derived to meet the national and international spectrum regulations, the flowed-down design requirements, and the verifications to demonstrate compliance thereof. In addition, we discuss the requirements, and the related verifications, that were derived to avoid radio frequency interference (RFI) with other satellite systems operating in the frequency bands used by AEHF.
