Abstract
Following a description of the origins of complexity of electrical power distribution control and monitoring systems we present an industrial approach of an aspect of this complexity. How can we simplify user access to systems possessing numerous functions? We note that simplifying system handling calls for increased sophistication of internal system models. We illustrate this sophistication by examples taken from our offer and then, to conclude, mention the innovations made in modelling methodologies which in our opinion will help us progress in this area
