Abstract
Several EMC problems must be faced when designing an AC electrified railway network. The paper gives a very concise overview of the ones to be considered in connection with the world external to the railway system itself. These are: the main frequency interface, the high frequency phenomena, and danger due to EM fields at 50 Hz
