Abstract :
In this paper we present a novel approach to improve the bandwidth of the microstrip antenna using neural network. This novel design of a microstrip patch antenna operating at a frequency of 2.5GHz. The designed antenna operates in a dual band operation. Using IE3D, the return loss values and the bandwidth are calculated. Further, using neural network technique the bandwidth is calculated. Both the results are compared. The neural network based results shows improved bandwidth compared with the IE3D results. The neural network is trained by giving sufficient input datas and the back propagation method is employed to bring the output. Details of the proposed antenna and the simulated results are presented.
