Abstract :
In this paper, a novel power quality (PQ) evaluation approach based on wavelet packet decomposition (WPD) and fuzzy logic is proposed. First, the PQ indices (PQIs) are redefined in the time frequency domain using WPD that prove to be capable of accurately measuring. Then a fuzzy synthetic evaluation model is used to amalgamate the redefined PQIs into one single index, the new index will helps reduce the size of data processed which is required in modern power system applications. The simulation results demonstrated that the proposed approach can effectively evaluate the power quality.
