            Abstract :
A novel method is described for automatically modeling virtual cities. A city is considered to be composed of several city blocks, and each block has feature values, such as average building height. The feature values are determined using a genetic algorithm. A chromosome represents the building layout of a virtual city and a fitness function is used to measure the similarity between neighboring blocks. Experimental results showed that this method produces realistic virtual cities
