Abstract :
Various algorithms suitable for identifying the parameters of autoregressive image models are discussed and evaluated. These include general and biased compensated least squares procedures, a correlation based algorithm, and procedures involving the simultaneous estimation of both image model coefficients and pixel values. Experiments using real images and random fields, indicate that the correlation based procedure might be most useful for image identification.
