Abstract :
The introduction of low floor buses, which are of the same level as the bus stop platform, onto urban transport networks has solved partially several problems of users access. For a good accessibility, in particular for persons of reduced mobility, the bus must get the nearest possible to the edge of the platform. In order to repeat this manoeuvre accurately, automatic guidance techniques are required during the docking phase from forty metres upstream of the stop bus station. This paper presents the realisation of the control of the vehicle direction with a fuzzy controller. This paper analyses the behaviour of such a system and discusses the choice of the controller type
