Abstract :
A necessary and sufficient condition for a q-ary code to satisfy the two-way chain condition (TCC) is found. A known construction is shown to lead to codes which satisfy the TCC. Some q-ary codes of dimension k⩽6 meeting the Griesmer bound are proved to satisfy the TCC
