Abstract :
A data acquisition system, DAQ, system is developed for each experiment to satisfy its requirements in case of not only large experiment but also small one. However, it isn´t efficient for small or middle size experiments because the requirements of such experiments are similar. As they require the similar functionality for the DAQ system, the basic core parts of them can be used each other for most of experiments. We have developed a software framework, DAQ-Middleware, for DAQ systems of small or middle size experiments. DAQMiddleware is a software framework, i.e., a middleware of a network-distributed data acquisition system for a small or middle size experiment. The framework is developed with the object-oriented technology and a CORBA technology to communicate objects. Although CORBA provides easy communication method of objects, it has a disadvantage for its performance. We developed new communication architecture of data communication and implemented it into the DAQ-Middleware 1.1.0. The new communication method is based on a usual socket communication. The performances of these communication methods were measured. The throughput of the Socket method is better than that of CORBA one except for 16 to 128 kBytes data transfer. As a result, it is confirmed the performance of integrated DAQ system with using the new architecture of DAQMiddleware will be improved for specific data size.
