Abstract :
For a class of infinite dimensional systems in which the modes are uncoupled, we show how to construct a finite dimensional compensator which produces a non-zero stability margin for the closed-loop system. The closed-loop system approximates an optimal closed-loop system in which the compensator is infinite dimensional.
