Abstract :
This paper presents a low-profile dual-arm Archimedean spiral antenna over an artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) ground plane. The antenna under study produces right handed circular polarization. The AMC ground plane consist of 4times4 square patches with no vias. The distance between the antenna and the top of the AMC ground plane is reduced to 0.02lambda0. The operating frequency is 4.5 GHz. The planar size of the ground plane is 0.837lambda0 times 0.837lambda0.
