Abstract
Lexicographic MADM method is one of widely used methods in the decision-making area. However, the traditional lexicographic approach suffers from two major drawbacks. Firstly, it assumes that the attribute values are always certain or deterministic. Secondly, the dominant relationship among attributes weight seems too strict and inflexible. In the real-world environment, these two assumptions seem impracticable and limit the scope or applications of the lexicographic method. This paper proposes a fuzzy lexicographic MADM approach that can overcome the above two weaknesses. The concept of the proposed approach utilizes the fuzzy set theory to model the uncertain attribute values while it releases the strict dominant weight relationship in the meantime. A sample case is then designed and developed for demonstrating the proposed fuzzy lexicographic method
