Abstract :
We built a 5 GS/s fast pulse sampling module with DRS4, and evaluated algorithms to abstract the timing information of detector signals on the module. The algorithms we compared are digital constant fraction discrimination (d-CFD), sliding window with amplitude-weighted time, and cross correlation. It is proved that d-CFD gives the best timing precision, whereas the other two algorithms are more suitable for hardware implementation.
