Abstract :
A model reduction procedure based on aggregation with respect to sensor and actuator influences rather than modes is presented for large systems of coupled second-order differential equations. Perturbation expressions which can be used to predict the effects of spillover from unmodelled degrees of freedom are derived for the case of small spillover. A numerical example is given to illustrate the application of the method.
