Abstract :
Service migration enables continuity of service experiences while changing devices, without terminating or disturbing the running sessions of the service. It has been proposed as an important application for emerging ubiquitous computing environments. This paper specifically studies service migration for voice over IP (VoIP) services by applying session initiation protocol (SIP) as the main method. We implement a prototype application and our measurements results show that seamless migration of VoIP services is possible with simple enhancement on their underlying signaling protocols.
