Abstract
This is the 100th anniversary of the American car. It has dramatically changed in form over the last 100 years, and it will and must change in the future. The recent years of abundant gasoline at low prices has resulted in reversing of initiatives that had been taken to help conserve energy resources. One of these initiatives is the highway speed limits. While the public consensus is now for higher speed limits it should be understood that lower speed limits represent part of the best policy if future generations are to continue to enjoy the personal vehicle
