Abstract
Free-space optical interconnects are considered to be an alternative to the existing electrical interconnects since higher data transfer rates can be achieved for same or higher interconnect lengths and channel densities. As shown for two typical FSOI configurations, the optical crosstalk noise due to laser beam diffraction sets an upper limit on the maximum space-bandwidth achievable
