Abstract
With the development of virtual reality technology, tactile technology has attracted more and more attention. Vibrations between two flat plates have been proven to be able to create a squeeze film of air between the two plate surfaces, which can reduce their contact friction. In this paper, a learning and cognitive system based on above mechanism is presented, which consists of actuator & plate module, piezoelectric ceramic driver module, the finger position detection module and the central control module. Then based on the development system, the tactile characteristic of human finger is measured with experiment. Moreover, experiment for learning and identifying Chinese characters through tactile rendering are carried out and validates our system is of great value to visual-impaired people during their learning and studying.
