Abstract :
This paper presents a proposal of a monitoring system using Wireless Sensor Networks applied to the flowers crop. The floriculture sector is one of the most important economic sectors in Colombia. Flower production in our country is mainly intended to export, making the country the second largest exporter in the world after Netherlands. In order that this sector continue with its steady growth, it is necessary to intensify the processes of innovation and development that should have monitoring systems of the different variables that can affect the flowers production systems.
