Abstract
The greatly increasing number of base stations needed to support the micro-cell architecture means that a number of issues have to be addressed. NTT´s answers to surmount these various problems and expand its service offerings are the MOST system (Micro-cell Optical fiber microwave signal Switching and Transmission system), the zone-to-zone hand-off system, the simple zone expanding system, and the automatic station allocating system. The MOST reduces the facilities, the hand-off and expanding systems support services, and the automatic station allocating system eases the problems of construction. The paper provides an overview of the MOST system and zone-to-zone hand-off system
