Abstract :
Metamaterial are a special class of material which have negative permittivity and permeability. Due to their unique negative properties they are known to increase the gain and directivity of the antenna. To simulate metamaterial structure CST Computer simulation technology software is used. Simulation setup is matched to free space extraction model which measures permittivity and permeability of the material based on S-Parameter. This paper presents a simulation analysis of several of metamaterial structure in X-band for space communication application. A comparison is made based on simulation result to analyze several structures in terms of tune ability, size and ease of use.
