Abstract :
One of the most important parameters which needs to be controlled during a welding process is temperature. Temperature can reach 2000°C and more, which in this range, usually implies the use of infrared technology. Nevertheless, the high cost, the low resolution and the lack of image processing provided by the use of a standard IR camera has led to the use of another technology. CCD technology enables real time measurements and image processing to be performed. The use of two CCD cameras performing temperature and dimensional measurements allow some industrial welding applications, such as laser cladding, to be optimised
