  • Abstract
    Many companies are making good use of information and telecommunication technology, but they are having trouble using information technology (IT) because of many difficult factors such as funds, IT strategies, user training, information specialists, and IT development programs. Many business firms are short of money, strategies, and manpower to get and use information and telecommunication technology. With regard to the difficulties of these companies, authorities supporting them will be able to play an important role to suggest guidelines to the successful use of IT. Many authorities have instituted schemes in which companies can get valuable information related to the use of IT. This paper is focusing on the roles of authorities for making good use of IT in business firms. This paper finds out what the difficulties of companies trying to use IT are, and suggests supporting ways for making use of IT. To make sure a firms´ impediments on using IT, this paper used data obtained from chief information officers (CIO) of companies in South Korea.
