Abstract :
This paper presents a decentralized control scheme for two types of FACTS devices: SVC and TCSC, to enhance the voltage and angular stability in a power system using the residue method. In the first place, the system is analyzed, knowing the main stability problems. Then, the system is linearized to know which the controllable and observable modes are. Then, another analysis is made to know the better location and the feedback signal of the devices to implement the decentralized scheme. Finally, some time-domain simulations, continuous power flows, and frequency analyses are done to present the effects of the decentralized control.
