  • Abstract
This paper presents a spectral-domain formulation of the two-dimensional electromagnetic scattering problem from some circular cylinders located near a periodic array of circular cylinders. Since the structure under consideration is not periodic, the fields have continuous spectra in the wave number space, and the spectral-domain approaches require discretizing the wave number. The present formulation introduces the pseudo-periodic Fourier transform to consider the discretization scheme in the wave number. The transformed function has a periodic property in terms of the transform parameter, and the analysis region in the spectral-domain is reduced to the Brillouin zone. Since the Wood anomalies are degenerated to finite number of points in the Brillouin zone, the appropriate discretization is comparatively easy to consider.
