Abstract :
Describes briefly a low cost TDM/TDMA point to multipoint (PMP) system, which has been designed jointly by C-DOT and the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. The TDM/TDMA PMP rural radio system has been designed to provide telecommunication facilities in rural areas where subscriber density and traffic are low. The system can be configured to provide two types of applications, one as a stand-alone exchange providing radio local loops and the other for trunking the rural automatic exchanges (RAXs). While the basic hardware for both these applications remain the same, the software is different
