Abstract :
Denoising processing is a necessary pretreatment for polluted images before character abstraction, image recognition and image comprehension. In this paper, a new method which combines adaptive median filter with improved weighting mean filter, is presented. The new method has the two filter technique´s advantages. In condition of preserving the image edge as much as possible, the new method can not only get rid of salt & pepper noise with different density effectively, but also restrain Gauss noise well. The simulation results validate the effectiveness of the new algorithm.
